Why a range and not a number
Almost everything south of the airport runs on a single road, Federal Highway 307. When that corridor loads up there is no alternative route that saves time, so an exact number would be a promise the highway can break.
A range tells the whole truth: what it takes on a quiet day and what it takes on a Tuesday in high season. We would rather you planned for the top of the range and arrived early than the other way round.
What actually moves the clock
What time you land. When several flights arrive together, getting out of the terminal and onto the highway takes longer than it does mid-morning.
The season. From December to April the corridor is busier all day. That pushes times toward the top of the range — it does not change the fare, which is flat per vehicle and never rises with the season.
Where exactly your hotel is. There are real differences inside a single destination: the Cancun Hotel Zone is numbered by kilometre, and Tulum’s runs several kilometres down the coast road past the town.
Roadworks. A stretch under construction or an incident on the 307 can add time with no warning. That is why we track your flight rather than the other way round: what we can guarantee is that your driver is there when you walk out.
Tulum Airport (TQO) does not change these times
Every time on this page starts at Cancun International Airport (CUN). Tulum has had its own airport since 2023, and that is a different starting point and a different drive — if you are flying into TQO, message us on WhatsApp before booking.
