Good to know about the Tulum Hotel Zone
The Tulum hotel zone is not in town: it is the Tulum–Boca Paila coast road, a single narrow lane between the jungle and the beach, with hotels located by kilometre marker. The drive carries on past the town, and those last kilometres are slow ones.
- Beach hotels are located by kilometre marker on the Tulum–Boca Paila road. The name is enough for us, but if your confirmation shows the km, add it: that is what keeps your driver from missing the entrance.
- This page quotes the beach, not the town. Tulum town ends earlier, on Highway 307, which is why it has its own rate and its own page: the difference is those kilometres of coast road.
- At 2 h – 2 h 20 it is the longest run on our rate sheet that uses Federal Highway 307. Only Chiquilá takes longer, and that one heads northwest instead.
